Fiesch – Wallis
Amina holiday house rental
The city of Fiesch and Fieschertal are both situated on the banks of the white water (called like this, because of the white colour in the summer), which flows from the Fiescher glacier.
Fiesch is a small village with about 1000 residents and is located at a level of 1050 meters. The village is located in the upper Rhône valley of the Alpen area and is characterized by beautiful summers and wonderful winters. During the whole year there is great view on the Alpen. In both Fiesch and Fieschertal there are a lot of things to do. Fiesch is a perfect starting point for many beautiful walks and tours by mountainbike. The Fiescheralp is the perfect starting point for hang-gliding and paragliding with one of the best flying areas over the world. Moreover, Fiesch is an excellent place for motorcyclists: from out Fiesch you can go for great and interesting tours and trips on the mountain passes, especially in summer. An amazing and popular destination is the Eggishorn with a height of 2929 meters. On the Eggishorn you can admire the beautiful and the dimension of the Aletsch glacier. Besides, you have the greastest view on the Wallis environment. In Fiesch you can discover the Gogwärgi way with his inspiring stories. The ski area in Aletsch is great for both experienced and non-experienced skiers and snowboarders. The area comprises about 100 km of prepared ski runs with 33 ski lifts. From 2000 meters there is a guarantee of snow. Furthermore, Fiesch is a paradise for cross-country skiing; in Goms there are about 100 km of tracks for cross-country skiers.
The Jungfraujoch and Eggishorn are both located in the Wallis area, but the Jungfraujoch is often a lot more familiar. Although, the view from the Eggishorn on the Aletschglacier and the Matterhorn is a lot more prominent than the view from the Jungfraujoch. With the Fiesch cable-railway you can go for the Eggishorn with his fantastic view, called the ‘nicer Jungfrau’. On the Eggishorn there is a fantastic sunrise view for early birds.
With a trip to the UNESCO world inheritance you can admire the tremendous mountains, with a national significance. It is the greatest sequence of wonderful and diverse glaciers in Europe and Azia. The area is characterized by high ecological and cultural significance. In 2001, the district Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn became the first established UNESCO world inheritance in the Alpen.
